My Journey

More about me
I’m a proud mum of three children aged 6 to 10 years, negotiating a busy family life in central London. Born in India, I moved to the United States as a child. After I qualified as an Occupational Therapist, I worked at an acute children's hospital in Washington DC. Following my desire to work and travel abroad, I moved to London in 2005 where I had the privilege of working as and NHS Occupational Therapist for over 17 years, both in the hospital and community settings.
It was whilst working on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the United States that my passion and experience in offering infant feeding support began. I administered oral motor assessments and developed individualised care plans for babies with special needs and developmentally premature/high-risk babies. My work in the NHS has involved helping mums to breastfeed their premature babies, supporting cares for children with motor difficulties, to identifying risk factors and offering preventative care and advising families on handling and positioning for ease of care, play and interaction.
Over the years, I have continued to offer highly specialized infant feeding support to families of vulnerable babies whilst in hospital, as well as when they are discharged home and later for early weaning as they have started solids. It has been an absolute privilege holding these families during a turbulent time and supporting their transition home.
In 2019 as I continued to offer specialist feeding support as an Occupational Therapist, I embarked on obtaining the highest level of qualifications for breastfeeding and began my final training to become a lactation consultant. Having been accredited internationally, I am keen to offer breastfeeding support to expectant parents and new parents.
Whether it’s feeding or dressing, caring for a new small baby can be challenging, especially if they have arrived early; Even holding them can make your heart race. It would be a privilege to support you on your journey towards feeling comfortable and confident with all the challenges that you may face..
